data handling.
Updated 19 October 2026. This describes the Hanger Shopify testing build.
Shoppers
Hanger does not request Shopify customer profiles, orders or customer account identifiers. Reference photos are kept in browser session storage or memory and can be cleared in the fitting room. Clicking Generate sends those photos and the chosen clothing image to the Hanger backend, then to OpenAI GPT Image 2 through fal to produce a visual try-on.
Hanger does not save the source photos in its database. It stores anonymous device/session identifiers, request identifiers, generation status, result URLs and credit activity to deliver results and prevent duplicate charges. The generation providers process the submitted images under their own terms and retention policies. Generated images may remain accessible through provider-hosted URLs; do not treat those URLs as private passwords.
Merchants
Hanger stores the shop ID, permanent domain, shop name, encrypted Shopify access tokens, installation status, merchant sessions, credit ledger and purchase records. Shopify approves and processes merchant credit purchases. Each shop’s balance and dashboard are isolated from other shops.
Access and removal
Uninstalling Hanger invalidates merchant and shopper sessions once the uninstall notification is verified. Shopify’s shop-redaction notification removes the shop’s records, result links, sessions and credit ledger from this backend. This does not delete images held by generation providers. No Shopify-customer-linked records are collected, so customer data-request and redaction notifications do not have customer records to export or erase here.
Use Clear my photos to remove local references. For questions about this test integration, contact the shop that offers the fitting room. A published App Store listing must supply Hanger’s verified business and support contact details before launch.
Appearance, not measurements
A generated preview is not a measurement, sizing prediction or guarantee of fit.
